As part of our Live with Purpose program, we reflect on Magic Moments as one small but positive piece of people’s purpose discovery process. We also integrate Magic Moments into all our interviews and our Connecting with Purpose podcast which will be live later this month.

So, it seemed appropriate that when one of our team members – Shauna, interviewed us, she asked for ours. As you can see this was raw and uncut, which is in part what makes the magic in the recalling the moments.

As founders of the organization, myself and Neil have to model living with purpose, so here’s 2 of our Magic Moments – neither of which either of us had shared before (at least, not like this)!

As you can see, our moments are both very different and both about love, which, as magic goes is up there on the scale of significance. They provide a benchmark for us to assess all other areas of our lives, including our work, always striving towards being the ultimate version of ourselves by focusing on things things with meaning, from which we can create more magic moments. A large part of what inspired us to create PurposeFused in the first place.

If you’d like to have a go on your own, or with a friend, partner or colleague, the exercise is simple:

• Think back on a moment that was pivotal in your development, whether through changing your beliefs and perceptions, expectations and attitude or words and actions.

• How did it feel at the time?

• Looking back on it, what made it magic?

• If you had to give it a name, what would you call it?

You can do this for different time periods in your past, for your personal or professional life. Keep these Magic Moments which shaped who you are today accessible in your mind, so you can benchmark them against the future moments you create, as you aspire to add as many Magic Moments as you can, going forward.
